Reshaping Urban Mobility Microsite
To prepare for the transition of our publication-first products to digital-first, we designed a simple microsite showcasing a recent research report, "Reshaping Urban Mobility With Autonomous Vehicles: Lessons from the City of Boston” to help teams visualize what this change could look like with their content. This particular body of work was written in collaboration with Boston Consulting Group
A More Focused Experience
We wanted to remove the distraction that integration into the main Forum site would bring. Primary site navigation is removed, as well as footers and other irrelevant elements to allow the user to focus purely on the campaign and associated calls to action.
As a microsite, having this focused area of the web was important since our main site is many levels deep and made up of numerous subsections, making the navigation feel cumbersome and in many contexts damaging to the experience. This perspective allows for the creation of these sites to fit into our existing processes and content management systems – A single department or partnership provides the research and can associate the site with a specific project. That helps define clear lines of responsibility and ownership across our many content producers.
